Women on Wings is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) – UMED. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marks a significant step towards strengthening market access and creating sustainable livelihoods for women producers across Maharashtra.
MSRLM is an independent and autonomous institution that implements the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). MSRLM was launched in the month of July 2021. The Govt. of India launched The National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) under the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). The mission aims at creating efficient and effective institutional platforms for those in rural poverty enabling them to increase their household income through sustainable livelihood enhancements and improved access to financial and public services. The mission has connected 71 lakh families, through 5.97 lakh Self Help Groups across 34 districts of Maharashtra state.
The collaboration aims to co-create a scalable state-level model that will empower women-led enterprises through enhanced branding, expanded market reach and tailored business development support. This initiative reflects a shared vision of fostering inclusive, community-driven economic growth and enabling women to thrive.
“We are incredibly proud to join forces with MSRLM – UMED,” said Shilpa Mittal Singh, Managing Director of Women on Wings. “This partnership is a crucial step towards a future where more women in rural Maharashtra have access to dignified work and economic independence. We are excited to embark on this journey of co-creating opportunities and transforming lives.”
