Our goal is to co-create one million jobs for women living in rural India. To achieve that, we provide pro bono business consulting and mentoring to Indian social enterprises and state government institution programs, so that they can scale and offer further job opportunities to rural women. We aim to sharpen or transform their business purpose and model; create growth; manage cost and efficiency; improve organizational effectiveness; create targeted marketing strategies; grow sales in a profitable manner; and resolve operational challenges. Consulting and mentoring are provided by a panel of highly experienced Dutch and Indian volunteer experts, together with a team of business consultants based in India. Starting operations in 2007, we have co-created almost 400,000 jobs so far.
What this role requires
● Build high-value long term relationships with a set of social enterprises (we refer to them internally as business partners), understand their needs, develop a plan of action based on the areas of intervention required and map it to the relevant experts in our database
● Conduct research, analysis, and evaluation to provide industry insights, local context and recommendations to experts in formulation of consulting solutions ● Develop a plan of action with each social enterprise partner to implement recommendations, monitor progress, evaluate the impact and results of interventions ● Track the growth of social enterprise partners and connect them to multiple stakeholders wherever possible, helping them to create employment on ground ● Provide mentoring support to founders/CEOs of social enterprise partners, as required ● Support new partner acquisition and onboarding ● Provide regular reports and/or presentations on the progress of social enterprise partners to the team and the Board
Who we are looking for
● Graduate in any discipline, with a Masters or Postgraduate degree
● About 14-16 years of professional experience
● Someone who is making a conscious choice to move to the development sector, with all its pros and cons
● Ability to interact on every level of an organization, from CEO to junior employees and be a team player
● Experience in the domain of textiles and handicrafts, food and agriculture, clean energy would be to the candidate’s advantage
● International experiences in study and/or work would be desirable
● Takes ownership, is proactive and a self-starter
● Persistent and resourceful in challenging situations, with a practical approach to solving issues and complex problems
