Creating impact through social media

The purpose of social media is to discover, be inspired, create, connect and share. After a successful Social Media Summit for Women on Wings partners last May, the social business again organized a 2-day Social Media Summit for its newest business partners on December 28 and 29, 2017, which was attended by 11 participants.

Communication strategy in place
Stefan Bakker, social media expert at Women on Wings: “In order to make an effective social media plan, a solid communication strategy needs to be in place. Therefore the first day of the workshop saw the group set their overall communication objectives. From there every participant worked to create their communication strategy with key messages, a stakeholder analysis, SWOT and a set of objectives. On the second day a wide range of aspects of social media were discussed. Tactics for storytelling, using different platforms, marketing, to name a few, eventually lead to the group create their own social media plans and calendar.”

Innovative approach
The eager to learn audience absorbed all that was discussed. They were open in sharing their plans, successes and struggles and supported each other when Stefan invited them to write social media posts for their companies. For many the interactive way of working in the Summit was very innovative and much appreciated. All participants shared very positive feedback at the end of the Summit which was held at Club Patio, Gurgaon.
