ROPE new business partner Women on Wings

ROPE International empowers women from rural families with employable artisan skills. Currently, ROPE employs 300 women who make home and lifestyle products from natural materials like bamboo, coconut shell and banana fibre that even find their ways to some of the biggest retailers in the world. Women on Wings and ROPE join hands to increase the number of jobs for women that find employment through ROPE.

ROPE takes the ‘Responsibility Of People & Environment’ from a mere concept to the core of its operating philosophy; it’s the heart of its business model. It not only makes environment friendly products, but also nurtures initiatives to enhance the standard of living of people who make these products. The women artisans that work at ROPE take up courses enabling them to master new crafts and production techniques, eventually becoming better professionals.

“Women on Wings has helped to improve the lives of more than 200,000 families in rural India. By sharing knowledge and skills, it enables women to earn their own living. A wonderful example of helping people make a better future for themselves and their communities.”
