Women on Wings nominated for PwC’s Transparency Award 2016

Women on Wings’ annual report 2015-2016 has entered the top-three of the Transparency Award in the Netherlands. The Transparency Award is an initiative of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and awarded to organizations that communicate best about their social impact.

Using feedback for improvement pays off
José Verbeek, Finance professional at Women on Wings: “In 2013, we applied for the Transparency Award for the first time. The jury’s feedback was used to improve communication on our website and in our annual report. That resulted in a runner up listing in 2015 which encouraged us to work even harder on last year’s annual report. We’re very proud and happy that the jury has rewarded our efforts for continuously improving our communication with this nomination.”

Awards Event
Women on Wings is nominated in one of four categories and competes with Heifer and Mama Alice. The winners of all categories will be announced at a special event on Wednesday, September 28, in The Hague. The Transparency Award operates with the support of the Dutch Postcode Lottery.

“Through this partnership with Women on Wings, we want to enable more women to earn their own income that will give them greater financial means to improve their livelihoods. Economic independence for women means more children can go to school, more meals per day for their families and communities, and an overall better standard of living for them and future generations”
