Established in 1927, Federation of India’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is the largest and oldest apex business organization in India. Its history is closely interwoven with India’s struggle for independence, its industrialization, and its emergence as one of the most rapidly growing global economies.

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) is a subsidiary of FICCI and as the name suggests, focusses on women entrepreneurs in specific. FLO’s mission as the Womens’ Chamber of Commerce, is to work towards sustainable livelihood for women’s economic empowerment through its bandwidth of 17 FLO chapters Pan India. Through these 17 chapters, FLO represents 8,000 female entrepreneurs and professionals.

FICCI Ladies Organisation and Women on Wings are collaborating to identify and support social enterprises working primarily with rural women in sectors such as agri and food processing, agri and eco-tourism, textiles and handicrafts, waste management and related upstream activities and NTFP. The goal of this support is to increase livelihood opportunities and growth of women artisans engaged with the selected organizations.

“Through this partnership with Women on Wings, we want to enable more women to earn their own income that will give them greater financial means to improve their livelihoods. Economic independence for women means more children can go to school, more meals per day for their families and communities, and an overall better standard of living for them and future generations”
