“I was informed about Women on Wings by Claudia Busch, one of the Women on Wings experts. I was positively inspired by the ambition level of Women on Wings. The strategy to invest in partners and through these partners to bring employment and thus economic development to women in India, has proven to be successful.
I have worked for thirteen years in four sub-Saharan African countries, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia and Tanzania. I worked for a Dutch bank that had a minority stake in one of the biggest banks in these countries. I was Chief Risk and Credit Officer and also part of the Executive Committee. Focus was on collaboration with local management while governance was with a local board. These banks were full service banks but special attention was given to the economic development of farmers, MSE’s and informal groups of small entrepreneurs particularly women.
I have been to India a few times, love the country and I am happy to assist Women on Wings to meet its ambitious targets. For me a perfect follow-up on the job I have performed with a lot pleasure!”
