ROPE International

Women on Wings business partner since October 2016

ROPE International empowers women from rural families with employable artisan skills. Women make home and lifestyle products from natural materials like bamboo, coconut shell and banana fibre that even find their ways to some of the biggest retailers in the world. Women on Wings and ROPE join hands to increase the number of jobs for women that find employment through ROPE.

ROPE takes the ‘Responsibility Of People & Environment’ from a mere concept to the core of its operating philosophy; it’s the heart of its business model. It not only makes environment friendly products, but also nurtures initiatives to enhance the standard of living of people who make these products. The women artisans that work at ROPE take up courses enabling them to master new crafts and production techniques, eventually becoming better professionals.

“Through this partnership with Women on Wings, we want to enable more women to earn their own income that will give them greater financial means to improve their livelihoods. Economic independence for women means more children can go to school, more meals per day for their families and communities, and an overall better standard of living for them and future generations”
