Co-founder Ellen Tacoma in BDO’s vision paper 2022

Achieving goals and making a difference. That is what social organizations are after. However, many of them have been confronted in recent years with a dynamic that no one could have foreseen. The COVID-19 pandemic forced society to a halt in many ways. It culminated in a worldwide digital sprint. Social organizations had to participate in the transformation: reassessing mission and strategy, increasing flexibility, working agile and entering into alliances with chain partners.

The relationships between government, market and society are also constantly changing. Dutch company BDO wants to contribute to vital social organizations, which, according to the company, are indispensable as a connecting factor in the triangle of citizens – business – government and are important for shaping the transformation that is needed in the changing social space. BDO sees five important developments as the drivers of that transformation. In BDO’s 2022 vision paper on social organizations and the social space, Women on Wings’ co-founder Ellen Tacoma was asked to give her vision on 1 of the 5 drivers: purpose – social relevance. Read BDO’s vision paper 2022 (in Dutch) with Women on Wings on page 10.

“Through this partnership with Women on Wings, we want to enable more women to earn their own income that will give them greater financial means to improve their livelihoods. Economic independence for women means more children can go to school, more meals per day for their families and communities, and an overall better standard of living for them and future generations”
