Welcoming new textile partner SPOKSS

Shree Panchamdas Organic Khadi Gramodhyog Seva Samiti (SPOKSS) makes organic cotton handmade fabric. From the same it makes readymade garments, gym wear, and home decor with handmade embroideries. SPOKKS and Women on Wings started collaborating on their joint goal to increase the number of jobs and create livelihood opportunities for women in rural India where SPOKSS is working.

Empowering rural communities
SPOKKS works specifically with Muslim community people on empowering these communities through economic development of the women. At the same time SPOKSS aims to revive traditional art of the communities. It works with approved organic dyes to color cotton fabrics and uses the leftover for the production of handmade incense sticks. At the start of the collaboration with Women on Wings, 56 rural women are employed by SPOKKS. It aims to provide 800+ jobs to women and uplift 20 communities by 2025.

Agent of change
SPOKSS is founded by Richa Saxena, a young social entrepreneur from outside the sector but with a passion to bring about change and a strong focus on women empowerment. She operates her B2B business from Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Women on Wings and SPOKSS are currently working, via online sessions, on aligning SPOKKS’ strategy and drafting the business plan for growth based on the model CANVAS. SPOKSS is the sixth new business partner of Women on Wings since COVID-19.
