Lions club Roosendaal Westhoek shows how a Dutch movie can change rural lives in India

On April 6th Women on Wings co-founder Maria van der Heijden received a donation of 5,000 euros from the Lions club Roosendaal Westhoek.

Each year the Lions club organizes programs and events to raise funds. In April the Lions club presented the premiere of the Dutch movie “Knielen op een bed violen” in Roosendaal. The proceeds of the event were donated to two organizations. Thanks to the introduction of our expert Anita Joosten, Women on Wings was one of the two organizations receiving a donation.

Maria van der Heijden:” It was a wonderful evening with a great result. Through this contribution Women on Wings can create new jobs for women in rural India. Resulting in improved livelihoods for women and their children. It is also a great example of the involvement of our experts. Not only do they contribute their knowledge and expertise to our business partners in India, they are also putting efforts in raising funds for Women on Wings. Therefore a very warm thank you to the Lions club and Anita Joosten.”
