Founders Women on Wings take on new positions

Starting July 1st, 2016, Women on Wings co-founder Maria van der Heijden is appointed managing director of the Dutch organization MVO Nederland (CSR Netherlands). Since January 2016, Women on Wings co-founder Ellen Tacoma has an interim assignment and will focus on a new challenge at the cutting edge of social and business entrepreneurship.

From executives to non-executives
Last year October Maria van der Heijden (picture, right) and Ellen Tacoma already took a step back. They started working 50% for Women on Wings with the aim to further reduce it in 2016. This meant that they would, besides their involvement with Women on Wings, consider other responsibilities.
From April 1st, 2016, Maria and Ellen will hand over their management responsibilities and they become non-executive board members of both the Dutch Stichting and the Indian Women on Wings Foundation. This means that they will continue to actively monitor the mission and vision of Women on Wings.

“Women on Wings has helped to improve the lives of more than 200,000 families in rural India. By sharing knowledge and skills, it enables women to earn their own living. A wonderful example of helping people make a better future for themselves and their communities.”
