Two-day Summit on Business Planning for Women on Wings partners

The starting point to develop any company in a structured way is a solid business plan. On September 18 and 19, 2015, six Women on Wings business partners were guided through the CANVAS business model by expert Naomi Bisschop in New Delhi.

Keys for success
The CANVAS model is a strategic management and entrepreneurial tool which allows companies to describe, design, challenge, invent, and pivot their business model. By following these 5 steps, a company will get insights in creating value and building its value proposition. Naomi: “I was deeply impressed by the participants. They were very eager to learn, open to share their company’s details, helped each other and questioned each other’s assignments. All in a very inspiring way, with respect and lots of fun too.”

Participants’ valuable feedback
Most business partners attending the Summit came with two management team members. They got tools to write their companies business plan through many interactive assignments explaining each step of the CANVAS model. Dhanjit Sharma, Manager Sales and Marketing at Fabric Plus: “The assignments made visible what impact our choices have on the entire plan. Changing only a minor target will affect all the other steps in the model. These two days have been extremely valuable to us. It’s always great excitement working with Women on Wings. Thanks to your guidance we know what we are, wherever we are.”
Abhishek Pathak, Lead Textiles and Craft at Dhristee’s DRAP organization: “These workshops are very relevant to make us focused on planning the future of our enterprise. The interaction with all participants was very inspiring. We take so much from these Summits. I participated also in the e-Commerce Summit. Then, we were only thinking about marketing our products online. Today, we sell them on 12 online platforms.”

Understanding the business plan process
The Summit was to bring understanding to the entire process of creating a solid business plan. Feedback from all participants shows they all believe they got enough tools and insights to be able to write a business plan. The follow up will take place in the coming time when Women on Wings will support the participants in writing their actual plans for 2016-2017.
