Funding partner of Women on Wings since May 2018

The Export and Import Bank (EXIM Bank) of India is the premier export finance institution wholly owned by the Government of India, set up in 1982. EXIM Bank of India has been both a catalyst and a key player in the promotion of cross border trade and investment. Commencing operations as a purveyor of export credit, EXIM Bank of India has evolved into an institution that plays a major role in partnering Indian industries, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises, in their globalization efforts, through a wide range of products and services offered at all stages of the business cycle.

Supporting social rural entrepreneurs
EXIM Bank of India seeks to develop fruitful relationships with organizations supporting Indian social enterprises – ranging from rural grassroots enterprises to larger companies – in their overall growth in general and exports in particular, thereby augmenting employment opportunities and their export competitiveness. This initiative has been firmed up under its Grassroots Initiatives and Development (GRID) Group. The services offered under GRID seek to address the needs of the relatively disadvantaged sections of the society while creating expanded opportunities in the international market for traditional crafts persons, artisans, rural entrepreneurs and small business houses of the country.

“Women on Wings has helped to improve the lives of more than 200,000 families in rural India. By sharing knowledge and skills, it enables women to earn their own living. A wonderful example of helping people make a better future for themselves and their communities.”
