Aakar Innovations Private Limited is a Social Enterprise. Aakar believes that true women empowerment is only possible when we create equal opportunities for women. To achieve this Aakar has developed a small scale production unit for sanitary pads, a ‘superior mini-factory’. It runs on simple technology that works in the challenging environments of rural India.
Through the set-up of a mini-factory both menstrual hygiene issues are addressed and improved as is social and economic impact realized.
