Holi colours the world

Today, 27 March, Holi is celebrated. Holi – the festival of colours – is undoubtedly the most fun-filled and boisterous of Hindu festival. It marks the beginning of spring, an occasion that brings in joy, fun and play, music and dance, and lots of bright colours!

Every year it is celebrated on the day after the full moon in early March and glorifies good harvest and fertility of the land.

As per the Hindu calendar, Holi is celebrated on the Phalgun Purnima which comes in February or March in the Gregorian Calendar.

“Through this partnership with Women on Wings, we want to enable more women to earn their own income that will give them greater financial means to improve their livelihoods. Economic independence for women means more children can go to school, more meals per day for their families and communities, and an overall better standard of living for them and future generations”
