Human Capital
Already in 2014, Women on Wings defined in its strategy that India would take the lead by 2019. In FY 2015-2016, the team in the Netherlands has changed from initiating business to supporting the Indian team. Both teams are working independently with clear responsibilities.
There is one thing that does not change: experts will continue to share their time and skills pro-bono to support in realizing Women on Wings’ target to co-create one million jobs for women in rural India.

Future for unique Women on Wings approach
Women on Wings co-founders Ellen and Maria: “We started Women on Wings in September 2007 believing we could give women in India a chance to escape the vicious cycle of poverty. We saw a gap in the market: the lack of business knowledge in rural enterprises which made their growth limited despite the huge potential. Through our experts we are able to deliver this knowledge. Today this approach is recognized and valued in India and we are confident that the uniqueness of Women on Wings has a great future. The teams in India and the Netherlands are ready to achieve the target of 1 million jobs for women under the inspiring leadership of Shilpa and Ronald.”
